Volunteer Role Overview
Trinity Educational Center, Inc. is seeking a Volunteer Grant Writer to support our mission by identifying and securing grant funding to sustain and expand our programs.

Volunteer Responsibilities (Templates, links and instructions provided)

  • Support the preparation of reports and documentation for awarded grants.
  • Research grant opportunities from non-government funding and sources.
  • Assist with drafting grant proposals, narratives, budgets, and supporting documents in alignment with funder guidelines.
  • Help track grant deadlines, submissions, and outcomes.

Time Commitment: Flexible | Ongoing or Project-Based
Location: On-site or Hybrid (as approved)

Volunteer Role Overview
The Non-Profit Records Management Volunteer supports the organization’s transparency, accountability, and compliance by organizing, maintaining, and updating official records required for public inspection. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, documentation, and behind-the-scenes operational support that keeps a nonprofit running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities (Prior binders are available)

  • Ensure all required IRS charitable organization documents are current, complete, and properly maintained, including organizing documents and annual filings.
  • Review IRS guidance on required charity records and confirm compliance with public disclosure requirements.
  • Create, organize, and maintain two identical physical binders of required nonprofit documentation for public review.
  • Keep both binders synchronized and up to date whenever documents are added, updated, or replaced.
  • Label, index, and structure binders clearly so documents are easy to locate during public inspection.
  • Coordinate with leadership to obtain updated filings, letters, or compliance materials as needed.
  • Monitor record expiration dates and flag items that require updates or renewal.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive organizational information responsibly.

Required IRS Records May Include

  • Articles of Incorporation
  • IRS Determination Letter (501(c)(3) status)
  • Annual IRS filings (e.g., Form 990-N, 990-EZ, or 990)
  • Organizational bylaws and amendments (if applicable)

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Organizational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Comfortable working with binders, checklists, and document systems
  • Basic understanding of recordkeeping or compliance (helpful but not required)
  • Reliable, discreet, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to follow written guidance and maintain consistency

As a small nonprofit with an annual budget of $50,0000 or less, please do not let the responsibilities deter you from volunteering for TEC's Non-Profit Records Management position. A small budget means minimal tasks, such as managing binders and files, and you will have everything you need.

The Clerical & Administrative Support Volunteer assists Trinity Educational Center, Inc. with essential administrative and organizational tasks that support daily operations and program success. This position is ideal for individuals who are organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical and administrative support remotely
  • Assist with data entry, document preparation, and formatting
  • Organize digital files, records, and shared folders
  • Support email correspondence and basic scheduling tasks
  • Maintain spreadsheets, logs, and internal tracking documents
  • Assist with special projects and program support as assigned
  • Attend on-site support days or meetings when needed (advance notice provided)

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, and email
  • Attention to detail
  • Reliable internet access for remote work
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Prior clerical or administrative experience is helpful but not required

Background Requirements

To support a safe and trusted environment, certain volunteer roles require completion of a background check. Background check requirements are determined by the role's nature and the level of youth interaction.
Trinity Educational Center, Inc. (TEC) is not classified as an Educational Institution because it is not a member of the public or independent schools in Vermont that provide elementary and/or secondary education. There are no background requirements.
